I didn't go for mass today. Instead I hopped into a cab went to The Curve. By myself. Mark called me to find out where I was and I told him. Could hear Michael laughing at me in the background. He found it hilarious that instead of going for mass, I went shopping. I feel like I just lost 50 Catholic house points. (Yay for the Harry Potter reference)
I buy all my magazines at this magazine store called sun@mag. They're on the LG floor. And they are MASSIVE. They have their huge main store and their tiny shop where they keep the not-so-recent issues. The first time I found that place, I was honestly like a kid in the candy store. My eyes grew wide, jaw to the floor, I practically sprinted down the escalator with my 5 inch heels. I was in Wonderland. There were rows and rows and rows of magazines everywhere. I turned around and I see Mark laughing at me. He must have thought I was some jakun. I bought a couple of issues of Nylon and I was a happy kid. Afterward, I kept saying how this was the best Valentine's day ever (because it was Valentine's day) and Mark said the only reason why I'm so ecstatic is because I found Nylon Nirvana. (This is true.)
So imagine my sheer horror when I found that my sanctuary has been converted into some fucking steamboat place. THIS CANNOT BE HAPPENING. WHERE WILL I BUY MY NYLON NOW. Yes, I can buy my Nylon at MPH and Borders like every normal person but you see, I'm poor. I cannot afford to spend almost RM20 on 10 issues of Nylon a year (June/July are combined into 1 issue and no issues are released in December.) I'm still a university student so if I know I can save on something, I'll grab it. FORTUNATELY, sun@mag still keeps the small tiny shop where they used to keep their old issues. I am heartbroken.
But all was not lost, I bought 3 issues of Nylon today. September, October and November 2013 with Alexa Chung, Emily VanCamp and (my love) Lana Del Rey on the covers respectively. All with the price of RM8 an issue. Told ya it was a steal. The only down side to this is that I do not necessarily get all the issues. I guess when I start working, I can afford to buy my babies at regular price. Till then, sun@mag, please do not fail me.
